Counter-Strike 1.6 Tournament
From www.nationalesports.com:

"The National E-Sports League will be offering Events/ Tournaments in various games nation wide throughout the season. The Events will be divided into regions utilizing NEL servers and league website.

The NEL and participating Arenas will be hosting a $30,000 "Kick Off" tournament on 5/7 and 5/8.

This is a regional tournament with a national purse of at least $30,000.

The logistics are as follows:

Only official NEL arenas will be able to participate. Arenas have the option not to take part in the events if scheduling conflicts arise.

The entire gaming community is invited to compete. Players do not have to be part of a NEL/Arena league team. This greatly increases the number of players and allows for greater community exposure to the league and the participating LAN centers.

The event will start with player/team registration on the NEL website. Arenas will be limited to the number of teams their facility can accommodate. The number of teams each center will host must be submitted to NEL before registration for that ARENA can take place.

Each Arena may use the NEL bracket and event scheduling features of the NEL website to organize and schedule the matches. Each center will have competition on the first day to determine which teams will move onto the second day of competition and regional championship. The first day of competition will be entirely held within each LAN center.

The second day will determine the regional champion. The matches will be a battle between the best teams from each center, competing over NELs’ network of servers. The bracket/scheduling features will allow each center to track and follow their teams and the competition as the Tournament progresses towards the championship.

Each region will have one champion.

The prizes for each region will be determined by the number of participating Arenas and the number of players per region.

The guaranteed national purse of $30,000.00 to be divided between the regions accordingly should only grow as teams and centers register.

The Event schedules, player requirements, registration and purse allocation per region will be posted on the NEL website."

NOTICE: This event will be hosted at our Cary Towne Center location. If 8 or more teams register, we will host the Tournament at both Gamefrog locations.

[NEL] National ESports League
Gamefrog is excited to announce we are your Official NEL LAN Arena! The NEL is a LAN Center based league that will forever change the face of competitive gaming as we know it. Unlike other leagues out there, NEL is based at your local LAN Center. Gone are the days of reviewing demos over and over again to find a cheat on your opponents team. Each NEL Arena across the nation will monitor it's players actions to ensure fair play.

Season 1 will consist of three games: Counter-Strike 1.6, CS: Source and Call Of Duty. The league will last approx. 17 weeks, including pre-season and playoffs. Get your teams together NOW!

NEL will also be sponsoring major tournaments throughout the year on various games, not limited to those listed above. These tournaments will surely wet your appetite, as you will compete in the Local Event one day, and if you were skilled enough to win, you come back the following day for the chance to win BIG money in a Regional Event! Thousands of dollars will be at stake!

The NEL's first event will be a national Counter-Strike 1.6 event with a guaranteed purse of $30,000. The dates and full ino will be available shortly.

The NEL will release it's AMAZING website to the public on Thursday April 9 @ approx. 7pm EST. Teams will be able to sign-up on the NEL site upon its release.

New Space for Cary Towne Center Location [02.02.05]
That's right... we've moved again! But fear not, dear gamers, for we haven't gone far. Our Cary Towne Center location is actually still inside the mall. In fact, it's no more than 100 feet from where we used to be: this isn't so much a "move" as it is an "upgrade."

Say goodbye to the bland old white walls and beige carpet and "HELLO!" to our new look: an almost entirely black room (with the usual green GameFrog motif goin' on) to reduce screen glare and provide a comfier, cozier place to sit back with friends and enjoy a day of competitive gaming. We're still conveniently close to EB Games and we're even right next to the Food Court so's you've got a place to step away and chow down when the action gets to be too much!

We could describe how cool the new space looks 'til our faces turn blue, and although the new pics we've uploaded do a decent job of getting the image across... well, you'll just have to stop by and see for yourself just how awesome this new space is!
